Puppy Check Ups

Puppies are 3 days old today and are doing fabulous! Lucy is a wonderful mother. Each puppy is gaining weight nicely which is exactly what we like to see. Every day we check weights, check puppy over, check Lucy's temperature and mammories for any signs of mastitis, and put a clean pad in the box.

It is adorable to watch Lucy get up and check on each puppy as they squeal while we weigh and check. Today the puppies were much quieter during the handling, already showing a developing trust in being handled by people each day.

We also checked the sexes and we have 4 boys and 4 girls! We will announce the litter theme and names tomorrow :)
