Merry Christmas from Brambly Mountain!
Every year moves more quickly than the last. If you feel like I do, it's become a rather terrifying pace as your kids that once kept you up at night changing diapers and soothing tears now keep you up talking at the foot of your bed about friends and work and the future. And the spread of ages 6-20 has us juggling at times what feels impossible: trying to make it to Senior night and college performances alongside making sure we still keep the nightly advent storybooks wrapp

And the Winner is...
Maple! I did make that trip to SC to meet with Helen Holbrook. And it was well worth the 3.5 hours one way. I admit, after the accident with things even more chaotic than usual as we navigated insurance and being down a car with a holiday and family coming the following week, not to mention prepping puppies to head to new homes… I was feeling like such a long trip in the midst of all that was just too much. Best Laid Plans…
Writing helps me decompress… when I get the chance to write, that is. I should probably do it more often and decompress a bit more but, ah well, such is life. We do what we have to do to. Today I kicked the kids and the puppies outside to make time for writing. It’s a beautiful day. The boys are tossing the football.
