It's hard to believe another week as passed and the puppies are entering their third week of life! Eyes and ears have opened up, they are moving about the pen and beginning to interact with each other. And a growling and barking 2 week old puppy is pretty darn adorable. This is honestly one of my favorite stages of raising puppies.  The helpless, dependent, innocent stage where they lie around the box like little beanbags.  Flopping with exhaustion over whatever they just used all of their energy to crawl to - and without being able to see or hear yet, it’s amusing to see where they end up at times.  But as long as they can sense warmth, breath, and a heartbeat, they are satisfied to sleep just about anywhere.  There is nothing sweeter than

...and I’ve been working like a dog...lol. Every week I’ve told myself, I need to update my blog and let people know Lucy is expecting… and now it’s too late.  They’re already here!  In the wee hours of today, Lucy had 10 beautiful puppies.  And even more exciting, this is our first completely in-house litter using our own female and our own male, Zeke (Goshen Highland’s Kep).  Zeke We can’t wait to see how the little sweethearts turn out!
