What we’ve been up to

The last few weeks of puppy time is INTENSE. We have testing coming up tomorrow but leading up to that there has been plenty going on. They had their first car ride and vet visit last week and it went great. I love taking them places and getting all the oohs and ahhs and compliments. “They’re so beautiful!” “They’re so quiet.” “They’re so chill.” I feel like a proud mother. All puppies passed their health exam with flying colors.

And to make the visit even better, I got to see my favorite vet :). I’m not a fan of the other guy who “doesn’t believe in breeding dogs” but everyone is entitled to their own opinion I suppose.
At home I try to get a few puppies out at time to watch them interact with various environments. In our home as we’re working around the house, with me as I do yard or garden work. It gives me a little better picture of each individual.
I like to put them in challenging situations when I can. A play tunnel, climbing over a large and noisy tarp, crossing a creek to get to mama. I just loaded one on Instagram and I’ll try to put a few on here but I often can’t get them to work within the blog. I also introduce treats and we are working on “manding” (the puppy knows it needs to control itself and sit before receiving a treat. I’m hoping to get a video of that up soon.
I like to work in as many visitors as possible over this time. At this point they have met around 20 or so people. Ages 2-70 all shapes and sizes. They’ve met the cat and the chickens are coming soon!
Busy, busy. Last night I was in Charlotte, 2 hours away, for the LAST soccer game. Graduation is in two weeks. My homeschoolers are STILL finishing math (why is it always the math we never seem to finish??) And one day I'll get my veggies planted, but it will probably have to wait until these puppies head home! At this point all of the puppies are spoken for. If you'd like to be on our waiting list, let me know!
